Our March meeting will be the Annual Club Auction at British Legion Hall East Hanney.  The auction will begin at 8:00pm.

Bring all or any modelling items you want to get rid of on the evening and present them to the assembled membership.  The club will provide the auction forms and one or two members will act as Auctioneer  and Assistant.  You will need to advise the Auctioneer of any Reserve Price you want to put on an item to ensure that it sells for a price that you deem reasonable.

The club does not take any commission from any sales so whatever it  sells for is the price you get.

Since the set up time is likely to take a little while make sure you give yourself enough time to get organised.

We are a club of about 120 members with a site  situated between Abingdon and Wantage in Oxfordshire. We have turbine pilots. aerobatic pilots and scale model pilots.  We have members who prefer electric flight  but can sometimes be found flying an IC power model.   Gliders feature on occasions when we have a 'silent flight day'.  A good few of our members can also be found on the local slopes.

Club nights are held on the first Thursday of each month, when we try to arrange an activity or guest speakers are invited whenever possible. Sometimes our own membership will demonstrate a particular skill or talk on subjects of general interest to members.

Our flying site has unrestricted access, 24 hours per day and 365 days per year, with car parking very close to the pits.

We are a noise conscious but not noise sensitive site and this enables our members to fly the complete range of model types from electric to ducted fan and turbine powered models. Turbines require ‘B’ certificates and your flying skills will be checked by an appointed jet flyer before you can fly a jet. Some of our members take an active part in various fly-ins.

The Society operates a Basic Flying Training Scheme for fixed wing power and a buddy box scheme for helicopters has begun.
